The year is getting underway and no longer feels so new - I've started putting the right year in when I write the date, so that's a sign that we're on the right track!

February 1 2025

With my birthday being in January, I often missed out on presents and to my recollection, never had a party.

As my older brother was just under two years older than I, that made it doubly bad. So I started making my own birthday treats. Sometimes I would cook a nice dinner, or buy something at another time of year to be my present.

This year, I got myself a lovely present - an antique sofa. I bid on it late in 2024, then got the call just before Christmas that I had won the bid. Then I tried to get it delivered to no avail, but then finally Hubster came through and went to get it - right on my birthday. Now I have revealed this lovely old Victorian cameo back sofa . I'm excited to get to it, but I'm currently assembling all the materials for this project.

There needs to be some lead time, as lots of fabric items are not available in my area, so need to be ordered online. That is much more economical, which is always a good thing. You know how quickly the budget can get demolished.

Follow along as I bring this beautiful piece back to life. This will be my springtime project, as I don't really want to do the work inside, with all the attendant dust.
