There are so many options for crafts, but then what do you do with them? You'll need a place to display them and add to your decor. January 15 2024If your home has a coastal vibe, you may want to make things out of driftwood that you found at the beach.
Even just a twisty root can be a sculpture all on it's own, no embellishment needed. You may want a shelf or mantel to put them on to show them off, or just to have in view so you can decide what to do with them. Here are some shabby corbels that I made with hubby's help, but if you're crafty and are comfortable with tools you may want to tackle them alone. It's totally doable, but having an assistant might help with some of the stages of building them - for example, it's helpful to have someone else tighten the bar clamps used in this project while you hold the glued pieces together. Ideally, you would have a piece of weathered driftwood or a barn timber to put on top of them, for a truly rustic mantel. Share your pictures on the
