Mid January can be hard to get through, but it's not all bad. If you sit by the fire and knit, or read a book, that can be a good way to heal your soul.

Going out into the woods or to the beach can be a good way to get exercise and fresh air, and doing some wildcrafting while you're at it will give you purpose, besides giving the dog a run. Collecting some pine cones, or shells and sea glass, adds to your selection of craft supplies. Even if you don't have a project to include them in right at the moment, that's okay. I have jars with my collections in to show them off and get inspired.

Smaller projects, like these easy rustic projects are enough at this time of year. Start small, with some crafts that bring you joy, and build on that so you have some momentum when spring arrives. Starting from a dead stop is much harder.

Keep me posted if you're building up your repertoire of techniques and skills. Reply to this email, I read every one with appreciation and affection.
