Unidentified Implement

by Don Lee
(Winter Haven, Florida)

Found when cleaning out an old house.

Hi Don, that is some weird object alright. So, without a bit more information, it's pretty difficult to determine what it could be. Was this old house in Florida, or some other part of the country? If you know the area, sometimes there is a local industry that would have used the type of implement.

Hopefully, someone will recognize this and be able to identify it.

crab tool

I believe this resembles a type of shell cracker for seafood ~ Used as a crab 'fork' (for lack of a better description~) The hook portion would split the crab legs shell and the spoon portion would scoop out the goodies.
